Building scaffolding above roofs can be challenging. When it's 30m high, and can't be tied into the structure, that's even more challenging.

This project designed and installed by Alphasafe was to gain access to the building facade and roof edge of Sydney's iconic Maritime Museum for building remedial repairs and painting.

To achieve scaffold access above the low-level roof we developed an intelligent aluminium scaffold beam support structure which transferred loads into suitable loading bearing parts of the structure.

The 30m high working area of the scaffold was achieved using precision engineered German scaffolding, Layher Allround, and to further minimise manual handling time and risks we used a compact electric hoist to raise and lower materials.
